We have already implemented the following measures to improve accessibility:

Responsive Web Design: Our website is optimized for various output devices (smartphone, tablet, desktop computer) due to responsive web design. The content elements are automatically optimized for the best possible readability and adjusted for the respective display size. Additionally, sufficient contrast was taken into account in the design.

Keyboard Navigation: The main menu can be operated using the keyboard (Tab key, arrow keys). Interactive elements are accessible and operable via keyboard.

Structuring and Semantics

• All pages have descriptive page titles
• The language of the page is declared in the markup
• The used HTML markup is standards-compliant
• Headings are hierarchically structured
• Links have meaningful labels

Accessibility for Assistive Technologies

• Alternative texts for informative images
• Sufficient color contrasts
• Support for screen readers

The contents listed below are not accessible for the following reasons:

• Incompatibility with accessibility regulations
  Texts and comprehensibility: We strive to write our texts largely without abbreviations and foreign words and avoid convoluted sentence structures. If a text is not understandable, we ask for feedback.
  Contrast issues: Isolated contrast issues mainly apply to: cookie banners that overlap existing content and external content from third-party providers
  Multimedia content:  Not all videos have subtitles or audio descriptions. 
  PDF documents: Older PDF documents may not be fully accessible.
• Disproportionate burden
  Third-party content: Our website partially uses content and services from third parties (e.g., online booking systems). For this content, a complete statement about compliance with accessibility regulations cannot be made, as they are beyond our control.
  Legacy content: Retrofitting all existing content, especially older PDF documents and multimedia content, would represent a disproportionate burden.

We strive to implement the accessibility of this website to the best of our technical capabilities and legal requirements. Complete accessibility cannot be guaranteed, especially for complex or dynamic content and when integrating external tools (e.g., booking systems, widgets, forms).

According to Article 5 of Directive (EU) 2016/2102 and § 15 para. 2 WZG, certain requirements may be waived if their implementation involves disproportionate effort. The legitimate economic interest of the website operator must also be taken into account.

In case of unsatisfactory responses from the aforementioned contact option, you can submit a complaint to the complaint office of the Austrian Research Promotion Agency with limited liability (FFG). The FFG accepts complaints electronically via the contact form of the complaint office.

The complaints are examined by the FFG regarding whether they relate to violations of the provisions of the web accessibility law, particularly shortcomings in meeting the accessibility requirements, by the federal government or an entity attributable to it.

If the complaint is justified, the FFG is to issue recommendations for action to the federal government or the affected legal entities and to propose measures to eliminate the existing shortcomings.

With the entry into force of the Accessibility Act (BaFG) on June 28, 2025, affected persons can contact the Social Ministry Service as the market supervision authority in case of violations of the accessibility requirements.
